Summary history of Ramsey

Ramsey is a market town, ten miles north-north-east from Huntingdon, and the centre of a thriving agricultural and vegetable growing district. Here was the wealthy abbey of Ramsey, founded in 969, and much later the seat of Lord de Ramsey. What remains of the abbey is now a school.
