Monks' Hardwick Moat in Huntingdonshire

Ground plan of Monk's Hardwick Moat

Ground plan of Monks' Hardwick Moat

This is the most perfect example of a moated homestead remaining in the county.

The moat at Monks Hardwick is complete except for a small part of the east side, encloses an area of 660 ft, by 300 ft. The south side of the moat is quite 40 ft. wide, the north and west sides about 20 ft., and the east rather less. The enclosure is entered by two bridges on the west side, and one on the east.
