The museum is based on a magnificent Victorian building with marvellous and unique exhibits. These range from a huge working steam pumping engine, early wireless and scientific instruments through to post war electronic equipment. There are many engines amd pumps and a well developed printing room. The 1895 Hatthorn Davey steam pumping engine was going to be cut up for scrap metal but was rescued. It is now the only one of it's kind in the World.
